leslie j. yerman has been taking photos most of her adult life. Based in New York City, she has photographed the city, nature, places, people, families — young and old. Her passion for making photos is matched by her love of children.

Her gift is connecting with each child, giving him or her space to be open and free. Children are not forced to be quiet, sit still and pose for the camera. Instead, they are encouraged to be themselves.

leslie creates a comfort level that results in photos that capture a child’s spontaneity and joy.  These candid shots — in black and white and sepia — capture intimacy and subtleties that are sometimes lost in color.
